Is PocketKnife Travel free? Yes — completely free with no ads and no subscription required.
Is internet access required to use PocketKnife Travel? Almost all features work completely offline. The Currency Converter requires an internet connection on first use to fetch live exchange rates — after that, rates are cached on your device for up to 6 hours and work without a connection. All other features — trip planning, itinerary, packing lists, budget tracking, time zones, saved links, and maps — work without any internet connection.
Is my trip data backed up? All your data is stored locally on your device. We recommend using your device’s built-in backup (iCloud) to protect your trip data. Cloud sync within the app is planned for a future version.
Can I use PocketKnife Travel for domestic US trips? Absolutely. The app works for any trip — international or domestic. Destinations support both countries and US states.
PocketKnife Travel does not collect or store any personal data. All your saved data — trips, itineraries, packing lists, expenses, and saved links — is stored locally on your device and never shared. The only network request the app makes is to fetch currency exchange rates from Frankfurter (European Central Bank data).
