PocketKnife Vault is a local, offline password manager for iOS. This policy describes how the app handles your information. The short version: it doesn’t collect any.
PocketKnife Vault does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on any server. The developer has no access to your data, your device, or your identity at any time.
All vault data — including entry descriptions, usernames, URLs, notes, and passwords — is stored exclusively on your iPhone. Passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain. All other entry data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being written to a local database. The encryption key is generated on your device and stored in your Keychain. It never leaves your device.
PocketKnife Vault makes no network requests. It has no server backend, no analytics service, no crash reporting SDK, and no advertising framework. The app contains no code that communicates with the internet.
PocketKnife Vault explicitly excludes its database from iCloud and iTunes backups. Your vault data does not travel to Apple’s servers via backup services.
PocketKnife Vault uses Face ID and Touch ID through Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework to unlock the app. No biometric data is accessed or stored by the app. Authentication is handled entirely by iOS; PocketKnife Vault only receives a pass/fail result.
PocketKnife Vault does not use any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or external services of any kind.
PocketKnife Vault does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Any future changes to this policy will be reflected with an updated date at the top of this document. Substantive changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
